TORONTO – Applications for provincial Seniors Community Grant Program funding are open until April 28 (ontario.ca/page/information-seniors-organizations) for organizations and municipalities offering seniors programming and services.
Last month, the province announced funding for the program was being doubled to $6 million for 2022-23.
Each year grants go toward initiatives helping seniors to remain active, healthy, safe and connected with funding ranging from $1,000 to $25,00 per project.
Incorporated organizations are eligible to receive up to $25,000 and smaller, unincorporated seniors’ groups have a limit of $10,000.
Projects must involve seniors and meet ministry priorities. Approved projects are anticipated to begin by late summer this year and must finish by March 31, 2023.
Seniors minister Raymond Cho stated in a press release the government is “investing more than ever” into the grant program to support more older-aged adults who have helped build and contribute to Ontario’s quality of life.
