When Noreen left us suddenly on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022, she took the brightest and best laughter to heaven. Noreen’s passing at Palmerston & District Hospital alleviated her biggest fear of being a burden to those she loved. During a lengthy illness, Noreen ensured the best possible life for her loving husband, Keith Dempsey, who predeceased her in 2000. Those left bereft of her laughter and love, especially her greatest supporter, her brother Ralph Moyer of Durham; her brother Mervin Moyer and his wife Yvonne of Mount Forest have lost their best dog sitter; her baby sister, Iona Wenzel of Bradford, has lost friend and telephone travelling companion. As well, her sister-in-law, Deborah Moyer of Wetaskiwin has lost her partner in crime. Aunt Noreen, or Nenee will be very much missed and fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Lisa Squire and John; Randy Moyer; Evan Moyer and Melanie; Shawn Moyer and Sarah; Kyle Moyer; Kristy Idzakovic and Ivan; Caitlin Murray and Jeff; and Adam Wenzel. Her great nieces and nephews, truly believed she was the great one. Jacob and Grace Squire: Riley, Teira, Kael and Kallah Moyer; Hailey, Hannah and Heika Moyer; Isaac, Alexander, Wesley and Simon Moyer; Vera and Raina Idzakovic; Peyton and Kash Murray, will have to have hot dogs and McDonald’s without their beloved Nenee. Noreen is going to be busy in heaven. She has gone to join her beloved brother Elmer Moyer; he was very happy to be known as her favourite telephone buddy; she often mentioned tidbits of their conversations. Noreen happily spent countless hours with her parents, George and Marjorie Moyer (nee Grubb), listening to their stories, getting to know, understand and love each of them, and in turn assisting them on their journeys towards meeting God. Noreen will also be saying “hello, I have missed you”, to her sister-in-law, Jessie Lou Moyer (nee Lawrence). Many of Noreen’s family and friends especially her beloved cousin Lucy Plomin and Lucy’s family are busy greeting Noreen. Noreen spent many years working as a Health Care Aid in Durham and Mount Forest before retiring to Clifford. Although Noreen was basically house bound for many years, she had continued her mission of giving of herself via her telephone and Canada Post. Her calls and cards will be sorely missed by the many people she ‘touched’ over the years! Visitation was held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston, on Monday, March 21st from 12:30pm until the time of the funeral service at 1:30pm. Pastor Jody Rinas officiating.
