Dear Editor:
I am an 83-year-old man who is very upset with what I have read in your paper concerning this so-called protest, etc. – “Freedom Convoy.”
I can’t believe the organizer and what her comments were.
Your paper has always been the best and will continue to report the truth.
I asked three of the protesters what they were protesting. They didn’t really know and said it went on their phone to come out to the events.
It’s a sad day to see the Emergencies Act be applied, but it had to be done. Thousands of people were laid off and many businesses have had to close in Ottawa area due to this completely stupid idea.
I feel very sorry for the Tim Hortons young employees. I’m sure these 50 or so people yelling were terrifying these employees.
The organizer has said money was raised (for food banks). I would like to know which ones and when?
History repeats itself. Pierre Trudeau had to bring in the War Measures Act in early 1970s over the FLQ and I don’t agree with our MP John Nater being against the Emergencies Act.
They are bringing children, people who can’t vote, Trump supporters, people from the U.S. They won’t release it, but many, many individuals from other places are in jail due to security involving the Freedom Convoy.
It’s a privilege to write comments in your paper and then the real truth comes out.
Thank you.
