GUELPH/ERAMOSA – The cost of compensating Guelph/Eramosa council was over $144,000 in 2021, a decrease from just over $150,500 in 2020.
The annual report, presented in a March 7 council meeting, highlighted the 2021 remuneration for council, additional expenses as well as the township’s absences throughout the year.
Pay and expenses for all of council totalled $144,106.
Mayor Chris White was the highest paid member of council last year, receiving a total salary of $41,671 plus expenses of $680 for total remuneration of $42,351.
Councillors’ remuneration was set at $25,399 in 2021.
Council opted not to receive a salary increase for 2021 and 2022.
As for absences, councillors were present at each meeting in 2021 with the exception of former Ward 3 councillor Louise Marshall, who was absent seven times.
