FERGUS – Tickets to the 2022 Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games will go on sale at 10am on “Tartan Day”, April 6.
“The festival is working closely with our partners at the municipality and public health to ensure the event surpasses safety expectations and will follow the local public health guidelines in the delivery of our world-class event,” stated festival president David Radley in a March 4 press release.
After cancelling the festival (and offering alternative events) in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers announced in January they were planning the return of the traditional live event this year.
And now they are “in a position to begin ticket sales, including day and weekend admission and campsite sales,” the press release notes.
Tickets for the event, planned for Aug. 12 to 14, will be available at www.fergusscottishfestival.com starting April 6.
As usual, the 2022 festival will feature its four pillars: heavy events, highland dance, clans and heritage, and pipes and drums.
Organizers also note that the Red Hot Chili Pipers will be performing on Aug. 12, following the traditional Festival Tattoo.
“Hosting the first live event since the start of the pandemic, the festival board of directors noted that the priority continues to be the safety of guests, volunteers, competitors, performers, clans, sponsors, and community so that they can enjoy ‘Scotland without the Airfare’ well into the future,” states the festival release.
“The festival is grateful for the steadfast support received throughout the past two years and as we return to the traditional live event in August.”
