BISSELL, Mrs. Dorothy Mary Angela (nee Feil)

August 13, 1925 - February 18, 2022

Dorothy was born on Thursday, August 13, 1925, in Elmira and passed away peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Chartwell Queen’s Square Retirement Home in Cambridge at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late James (Jim) Bissell (2016) for 65 years. Predeceased by her parents William and Lovina (nee Holle) Feil, sisters Vera (Howard) Nihls and Betty (Carmen) Norris, brothers Fred (Ila) Feil, George (Loretta) Feil, and Bill Feil. Survived by sister-in-law Mary Feil of Sarnia and many nieces & nephews. Dorothy graduated from Lougheed Business College in Kitchener and worked for many years at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo. Dorothy was an avid sailor and a member of The Georgian Bay Yacht Club, Owen Sound. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed walking, camping, fishing, and skating. Family parties and all special occasions were a very important part of Dorothy’s life. She enjoyed listening to a variety of music and would even sing you a ‘tune’ if you would listen. Dorothy enjoyed watching Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune. She enjoyed her daily crossword and sudoku puzzles from the Waterloo Record and weekly visits to Jan the hairdresser at Frederick St. Mall. Dorothy was a long-time parishioner of St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Kitchener. Dorothy’s family will receive relatives & friends from 4:00-7:00pm on Friday, February 25, 2022, with vigil prayers on Friday at 7:00pm at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Kitchener with interment at St. Mary Immaculate and St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Elora. Please note guests are required to RSVP to attend visitation and service through the funeral home website or by calling 519-749-8467. Masks are required.
