WELLINGTON COUNTY – Edge Mutual Insurance has once again demonstrated strong support for local health care, with substantial donations to both the Palmerston and District (PDHF) and Louise Marshall Hospital (LMHF) Foundations.
Each Foundation recently received a donation of $25,000 which will help local hospitals continue to provide excellence in care.
Al Hiddema, Edge Mutual board chair, stated, “It is a pleasure to be able to help local causes when we are able.”
The Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation will apply this donation to the purchase of a cardiac defibrillator for use in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in surgical services at the hospital.
Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation (PDHF) will use the gift to purchase four medication carts that are required by physicians and nursing staff to safely store and dispense medications in the inpatient unit.
“This type of surprise is always fantastic, but at the end of what has been another difficult year, it seems even sweeter. We appreciate knowing that our local organizations value the work that we do here at the hospital, providing quality care close to home for our patients,” said Dale Franklin, development officer for PDHF.
