ELORA – Santa Claus will once again be visiting Elora to bring Christmas spirit while also raising money to aid in the restoration of a local church.
On Dec. 11 and 18, from 1 to 4pm, families can bring their cameras and get a photo with the jolly man himself at 45 Colborne Street in Elora.
Santa, seated in his sleigh with his bundle of presents, will be joined by several reindeer.
Organizer Stephen Truchan said families are invited to come by and greet Santa, take photos and make a donation to Knox-Elora Presbyterian Church.
This is the second year Truchan has organized the event to raise funds for the local church, which will go towards restoring the roof and the church’s steeple.
“We had a big response,” Truchan said of last year, “and I think it will probably be bigger this year.
“It made quite a bit of money for the church so that was great.”
Truchan said last year’s donations rounded out to almost $4,000 to go towards the church’s restoration project.
“[People] kept coming out and it was really great … and its good for the community.”
