GUELPH – Children aged 5 to 11 can get their COVID-19 vaccine in Stone Road Mall from Nov. 25 to Dec. 16.
Ross Kirkconnell, executive director of the Guelph Family Health Team, said doctors in Guelph are working together as a group to administer the vaccine as efficiently as possible.
“With the expectation of vaccinating the roughly 10,500 Guelph children in this age group, having one site with easy access is the goal,” Kirkconnell said in a press release.
“The site in the mall is a great collaboration between the Guelph Family Health Team and Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health.
“We have collaborated to pull this together quickly to make this important public health measure as successful as possible.”
The vaccination site is near the elevator and escalator to the lower level of the mall.
Family doctors, nurses and nurse practitioners will be on site Mondays to Thursdays from 1 to 8pm, from Nov. 25 to Dec. 16.
The clinic is available to any child in the age group, but an appointment is necessary.
Public health is taking care of that. To book an appointment, call 1-800-265-7293 ext. 7006. Online booking at wdgpublichealth.ca should be up and running in a few days.
This COVID-19 vaccination clinic will run for a month.
After that, the vaccines will be given in doctors’ offices, at current public health clinics, and at pharmacies.
