MINTO – Anticipation is building at Whites Road Pentecostal Church (WRPC) in Harriston as preparations for the second presentation of the church’s Bethlehem Live drive thru nativity is in full swing.
In 2020 the need to adapt to COVID-19 protocols created the opportunity for WRPC to present a social distanced outdoor Christmas story presentation, church officials state in a press release.
WRPC’s original plan to hold the event over two evenings was upset by a freezing rain event but the second night proceeded with a count of 100 cars; single drivers, couples and family full vans. Building on 2020, the 2021 version has been refreshed to shorten the drive thru narration, moved up to a November date rather than December and again scheduled for two evenings.
“The presentation takes the team work of the whole congregation from behind the scenes directing and wardrobe, multiple set construction and lighting, animal transportation and wrangling, to drive thru traffic control so the actors can successfully bring the wonderful Christmas message retelling to life,” officials state.
Bethlehem Live is scheduled for Nov. 27 and 28 from 6 to 8pm both evenings. Admission is free, but donations to the Harriston Food Bank are greatly appreciated.
