KITCHENER – Bereaved Families of Ontario – Midwestern Region (BFO-MR) is celebrating its 25th anniversary providing grief support in Waterloo Region and Guelph and Wellington County and is inviting the community to commemorate this milestone through a special year-end campaign.
“We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and how our small charity has grown and evolved over the years,” stated Jaime Bickerton, executive director.
In honour of its quarter-century in operation, BFO-MR is inviting the community, donors, supporters and friends to celebrate through its “25 Ways” campaign, which is underway now until the end of the year.
“One of the ways we’re inviting the community to celebrate is through sharing stories about the impact of receiving grief support through our organization or about their experience as a supporter or volunteer,” says Bickerton.
“So far, we’ve received a number of stories from members, past staff and volunteers and one of our founders. We have been truly humbled by the response.”
In addition to collecting stories, BFO-MR has also set a goal to welcome 25 new monthly donors in commemoration of this milestone.
“Becoming a monthly donor and joining our Community of Hope is one of the best, most sustainable ways to ensure that BFO-MR will still be here in another 25 years providing grief support to our community free of charge,” says Bickerton.
