WELLINGTON COUNTY – It’s Waste Reduction Week in Canada – a time for Canadians to take action and adopt more environmentally conscious choices.
The Wellington County Solid Waste Services Division has put together a special webpage for local residents to explore during Waste Reduction Week. It’s full of fun activities for individuals and families.
The web page offers informative videos and an opportunity to go on an e-waste hunt, create a reusable t-shirt bag, complete a plastics word search, and more.
Head to www.wellington.ca/wrw to check it out. This webpage is only available until the end of October.
Residents are also encouraged to drive by the Wellington County Museum and Archives (located at 0536 Wellington Road 18 between Elora and Fergus) to see it lit up blue and green in celebration of Waste Reduction Week. The building will be lit up in the evenings until Oct. 24.
Anyone with questions is invited to contact wasteinfo@wellington.ca or call 519-837-2601.
