Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce that Agnes May Givens passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Wellington Terrace at the age of 94. Agnes was born in West Garafraxa Township to Stanley and Elizabeth Shaw on May 23, 1927. She had many interests with dancing and country music being her favourite. She also enjoyed gardening and travelling and spending time with her family and friends. Agnes is survived by her husband of 70 years Leo, her children John (Kim) Givens, Barry (Patty) Givens, Mary Ellen (Vic) Aitken and Margie (Tom) Norris. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and two sister in laws Joan Shaw and Gail Shaw and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Elizabeth Shaw, her brothers Stewart (Beth), Bill (Jean), Alex, Dave and one sister Margaret (Wes). Memorial donations can be made to the Wellington Terrace. The family would like to thank the staff at the Wellington Terrace, especially Walnut Grove for their wonderful care and compassion. Service and internment were on Friday, October 8, 2021. Arrangements entrusted to Graham Giddy Funeral Home.
