TORONTO – Effective Oct. 9, the province removed capacity limitations for concert venues, theatres, cinemas, spectator areas of sports facilities, meeting and event spaces, racing tracks, and for studio audiences in television production.
An Oct. 8 press release stated there have been a limited number of outbreaks within those settings.
“In settings where capacity limits have been lifted, the requirement for individuals to maintain two metres of physical distancing are being removed, with limited exceptions,” the press release stated.
Although meeting and event spaces are permitted to allow 100 per cent capacity, limits will still be imposed in those settings if physical distancing cannot be maintained at full capacity.
“In addition, proof of vaccination will continue to be required in outdoor settings where the normal maximum capacity is 20,000 people or more to help keep these venues safe for patrons,” stated the release.
