Having lived all of his life at R.R. #2 Alma, Lloyd Edward Franklin finished his life’s journey as he requested, at home on Friday, October 8, 2021 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Shirley (Lindsay) for 63 years. Dear father of the late Philip Franklin in infancy, Bill Franklin of Drayton, the late Darlene Shaw (2019) and her husband Steve of Belwood, the late Diane Miller (2004) and Carmen of Hanover, Colleen and Ken Bosomworth of Alma, Paul and Dale Franklin of Drayton, Robert Franklin and Lori Fountain of R.R. #2 Alma, Andy and Alicia Franklin of Palmerston and Jeff and Cassy Franklin of Alberta. Cherished grandfather to his 22 grand and 18 great grandchildren. Brother of Lenora Novak and the late Steve Novak, Dorothy Vaughan and the late Alfred Vaughan and Jim Franklin. Brother in law of the late Jim Lindsay and Karen Lindsay, Joyce Duffield and the late Wayne Duffield, Marion and George Whale, the late Bob Lindsay and Vera Lindsay, Hugh and Leslie Lindsay, Barrie and Cathy Lindsay, Norm and Bernice Lindsay and Brian and Wendy Lindsay. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Angus and Gertrude (Schieck) Franklin, sister Ruth and her husband Tony Jedrejewski. The family received friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Drayton on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. A private family service was held in the Drayton United Church on Wednesday, October, 13, 2021. The service will be video taped and made available on the funeral home website below Lloyd’s notice on Friday, October 15, 2021. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Drayton United Church or the Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
