of Palmerston and formerly of Moorefield passed away peacefully at the Palmerston and District Hospital on Saturday, October 9, 2021 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Gladys (Capling) for 52 years. Dear father of Margaret Hills and Ian Fraser of Richmond Hill and Harold and Tami Hills of Rothsay. Proud and loving grandfather of Paige and Evan Hills. Brother-in-law of Earla Roth and Annie Campbell. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Edgar and Elizabeth (Crowe) Hills, sisters Marguerite Gilmore and Helen Robertson, brothers-in-law Ivan Gilmore, Elwood Robertson, Claire Roth, Cliff Campbell and Archie Campbell and sister-in-law Isobel Campbell. The family received friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. The funeral service was held in the Palmerston United Church on Thursday, October 14, 2021. The service will be video taped and will be available for friends to watch on Saturday, October 16, 2021. Interment in Bethesda Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Palmerston Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
