SULLIVAN, Garry Joseph

In Loving Memory. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Garry Sullivan. Garry was a loving husband to Linda Sullivan, devoted father to Andrew (Jasmine), and Ryan, and proud Papa to grandchildren Ben, Chloe, and number three on the way. Cherished youngest brother to Ray (Trish), Joanne (Bill) and Sandy (2011) (Tom Basler). Dear brother-in-law to Debbie (2021) (Don MacKenzie), Brenda (Ron) Schepper, Fred (Evangeline) Bouwman, Ed (Patricia) Bouwman, Sharon (Mike) Kors, Sandra (Mark) Baguley, Keith (Rini) Barney, Sheila (Brendan) Keane and Kathy Barney. Special Uncle to David, Lindsay, Tara, Becky, Val, Carey, Johnny, Nick, Jake, Zack, Kylie, Reghan (Ali), Travis, Daniel, Ava, Angel, Melissa (Brett), Amanda, Kelsey, Cameron, Lily, Shea, Jada and Calvin. Great Uncle to Scarlett, Sophie, Dylan, Sephora, Blake, Hassan, Houssein, Sloane, Nash, Wyatt and Gillian. Garry and Linda were high school sweet hearts, together for 42 years and married for 35 of them. They had a loving and respectful relationship. Garry thanked Linda for every meal she ever prepared. They enjoyed travelling, and socializing with friends. In reflecting on how long they had been together, he once said simply “it’s been a good run”. Garry spent countless hours participating in sports and activities with Andrew and Ryan. He had a fun and generous spirit. He was a good role model for his sons and grandchildren. Garry and his brother Ray were partners in running Sullivan Plumbing and Heating, which they took over from their father in 1985. Andrew and Ryan also work for the business. Their reputation is testament to the hard work, dedication, honesty and integrity of the Sullivans. It was very important to Garry to keep in touch with his many life long friends. They speak highly of him and is remembered for his love of life and amazing laugh. He enjoyed his fishing trips, motorcycle and socializing. Garry always made time for his family and friends, encouraged everyone and wanted to make sure that everything was right for all. Garry rarely sat still. His days were purposeful whether it was cutting the grass, fixing things around the house or calling friends to just say hello. Even when he was not feeling well, he made the time to drop in on friends he hadn’t seen for a while to make sure they were okay. Most importantly, he loved spending time with Linda, his sons and daughter in-law, grand children or his best buddy Sadie. Garry’s passing is a tremendous loss for the entire family and his many friends. He will be remembered for his good nature and kind spirit. Daily acts of kindness would be a great way to honour him. Garry will be joining his father (Jim), mother (Jean), sister (Sandy) and several close friends. Garry’s funeral will be a private family gathering. The Family of Garry Sullivan Arrangements are entrusted to the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, Fergus.
