BROADWORTH, Carol Diane (Taylor)

August 9, 1943 - September 9, 2021

It is with deep sorrow and much love we mourn the passing of Carol Diane Broadworth, peacefully in her home surrounded by family at the age of 78. Lovingly remembered by her husband, love of her life and best friend of 57 years, Allan Broadworth and their 4 children, Larry (Connie) Broadworth of Rockwood, Lisa (Richard) Ruiter of Guelph, Jordan (Mary) Broadworth of Richmond, Vermont and Kristy (Dan) King of Fergus. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jillian, Joshua, Rebecca, Bradley, Kaitlyn, Drew, Jacob, Isaac, Ben, Danny, Morgan, Harper and Avery, along with 6 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by their infant and first born son, Michael Broadworth of Beaverton, her brother Bruce Taylor of St. Mary’s, her parents, Grace and George Taylor of Beaverton and her step-father, Roy Fleming of Beaverton. Carol was born in Cannington, Ont and grew up in nearby Beaverton where she met Allan at the age of 18. They started their young family in Georgetown and later relocated to Fergus where they lived for 34 years. For the last 10 years they have resided in Tillsonburg, Ont. Carol loved gardening, nature, music, art, quilting and travelling. As a young family her and Allan took their children on many grand adventures travelling and later her and Allan loved to travel far and wide together. She was a Sunday school teacher, she worked in a medical office and later a naturopathic office. She was a member of The Horticultural Society, The Herb Society, The Quilt Guild, and she was the founder of the Summer Thyme Herb Fair. But her greatest accomplishment by far was her role as a wife, mom and nana. She always said “your children should always know that they bring you joy” and it was evident her family brought her the most joy of all. Her bubbly personality, big smile and infectious spirit will be missed by many. The family would like to thank the Ostrander Funeral Home and the team at Care Partners, especially her home nurses Johanna and Kristen, who’s love and care for Carol was deeply appreciated by her and the family. If desired memorial donations can be made to the Fergus or the Beaverton Horticulture Societies. Memories and condolences may also be shared online at www.ostrandersfuneralhome.com At Carol’s request, there will be no service but a private family celebration and tree planting will be held at a later date.

The loss is immeasurable
but so is the love left behind.
