GUELPH – The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) trustees received the following information regarding staff appointments at the June 22 meeting,
Superintendent appointments:
Acting superintendent Pat Hamilton has been appointed as superintendent of education.
Hamilton comes to the position of superintendent with 27 years of experience in the UGDSB, 13 of those at the administrator level, having served as principal at Orangeville DSS and Centre Dufferin DHS, as well as vice principal at Guelph CVI and Centre Dufferin DHS.
He has also held positions of program leader at Westside SS and teacher at Westside SS and Orangeville DSS.
Hamilton had been assigned as principal at Westside Secondary School (WSS) for September. He will officially begin his permanent position as superintendent of education July 1.
Matt McCutcheon has been appointed as superintendent of education, effective Sept. 1. McCutcheon is currently a superintendent with the Peel District School Board (PDSB).
McCutcheon began teaching in 1997. He served as a school administrator for nine years and, prior to becoming a superintendent of education at the PDSB, held the position of manager of human resources.
Secondary principal of program:
Wendy McIntosh, principal at Centre Dufferin District High School (CDDHS), has been placed in the position of secondary principal of program. McIntosh will begin this position officially on Sept. 1, 2021.
Secondary principal appointments:
– April King from vice principal at Erin DHS to acting principal at Westside SS; and
– Adam Rowden from vice principal at CDDHS to principal at CDDHS.
Secondary vice principal appointments:
– Stacey Anne Dunkley-Buckley from teacher at Toronto District School Board to vice principal at CDDHS; and
– Ross Watson from teacher at Erin DHS to temporary vice principal at Erin DHS.
