PRITCHARD, Le

Leola Marjorie (Stone) Pritchard of Royal Terrace, Palmerston, and formerly of Harriston passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021, in her 92nd year. Wife of the late Bob Pritchard (2013). Mother of Bill Pritchard & Karen Pascall of Huntsville, and Anne & Gordon South of Minto Township. Grandmother of Scott Pritchard & Christine Carrier, and Mark & Sarah Pritchard, all of Paris, Ontario, Kyle South & Christine Jeffers of Nanton, AB, Lynne & Rick Lytle of Minto Township, and Julie & Trevor Denney of London. Great-grandmother of Bailey, Emma, Ashley, and Madison Pritchard, Cameron and Nicole Lytle, Cadence, Treyton, and Beckham Denney, and Bennett South. Predeceased by her brother Rae Stone and by her sister Marguerite Gamble. Leola was born the third child of Stewart & Eva (Lennox) Stone on the 3rd line of Minto. She met the love of her life, Bob Pritchard, and they were married on Easter Monday, March 26, 1951. She began her teaching career at SS1 Beehive one-room school, moving on to work as a supply teacher at Harriston Public School while raising her family. Leola retired from full time teaching at Minto-Clifford Public School in 1989. Family came first, with community a close second. Leola & Bob were regulars at all community and neighborhood events. They loved to walk & chat with those they met along the way. The Royal Terrace Retirement Home community became special too, when Le decided living alone was not much fun without Bob. Leola called the staff and other residents by name and was interested in their life journeys, participating in everything offered. Leola was an avid reader so was always well entertained, pleasant, and content to the end. Visitation will be held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston, on Monday, July 5, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:30pm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitors must schedule a time to attend on the funeral home website, or by calling 519-338-2441. Everyone attending must wear a mask. A private family funeral service will follow at 1:30pm. Rev. Kathy Morden officiating. The service will be live-streamed and the link available on the funeral home website. Interment of Le’s ashes will be held on her birthday, Thursday, August 12th, at Harriston Cemetery. Memorial donations to Harriston United Church would be appreciated.
