GUELPH – The Guelph Chamber of Commerce is providing COVID-19 rapid screening kits for free to small and medium-sized businesses in Guelph.
Working collaboratively with longtime community partner Innovation Guelph, this program will help identify asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic individuals and will help to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace and community.
Piloted by colleagues in Cambridge and the Waterloo Region, the Guelph Chamber and Innovation Guelph are thrilled to be able to provide this invaluable tool to businesses, organizers say.
This program is part of the Provincial Antigen Screening Program (PASP) in partnership with the provincial and federal governments.
The Guelph Chamber and Innovation Guelph are volunteering their staff time, capacity, and locations to ensure this program is available to the business community.
“Helping businesses navigate the pandemic has been our focus since the onset of this crisis. Ensuring businesses have the proper tools so they can stay open and stay safe is critical” said Shakiba Shayani, president and CEO of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce.
“We’re excited to continue to support businesses while contributing to the overall wellbeing of our community.”
Anne Toner Fung, CEO of Innovation Guelph, added, “Like the Chamber, we’ve been focused on helping businesses navigate and respond to the pandemic since it emerged. This project leverages community partnerships and brings an agile approach to supporting local businesses and their evolving needs, which has never been more important.”
Businesses with 150 employees or less in the city can now order their free rapid screening kits.
