GUELPH-ERAMOSA – The Wellington County OPP has identified human remains found in Guelph-Eramosa last month as a woman missing from Waterloo Region for nearly a decade.
Analysis by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services (OFPS) determined remains located in a wooded area north of Guelph, just off Wellington Road 30 on April 21, are that of Kathleen Ann Kraehling, 57, of Cambridge, states a May 13 press release from the Wellington OPP.
Kraehling was reported as missing to the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) on July 15, 2011.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Wellington County OPP Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services (FIS), under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and assisted by the Office of the Chief Coroner (OCCO) and OFPS.
Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident and state there is no threat to public safety.
