Gently passed away at his residence in Port Elgin on Wednesday, March 17th, 2021 in his 86th year. Cherished husband of Derlene Ferguson (née Ross) for 65 years. Loving Dad of Perry Ferguson (Cindy-Lee Rogers), Dwayne (Terry) Ferguson, Jill Dee Ferguson (Marcus MacRae) and PJ (Steve) Sparks. Fun-loving “Pops” of Chloe, Dayna, Nathan, Lindsey, Tayler, Hayley, Carlin, and Abbey. Beloved “Papa” of seven great-grandchildren. Survived by his siblings: Jessie, Joyce, Mike (Edna), and Barb (John) and brother-in-law of Keith, Barry (Marion), John (Bonnie), and Penny. Norm will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends both at Port Elgin and Sugar Creek, Florida. Predeceased by his parents Irwin and Janet Ferguson as well as several brothers and sisters. Norm and Derlene were the founders of Voyageur Transportation, an enterprise that further flourished under their sons’ leadership. Norm’s entrepreneurial spirit also inspired his daughters to start and grow ABL Employment. A man with an admirable work ethic, a laid-back calmness, a love of family, card playing and fishing…he enjoyed a full life of good times with family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held at the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest, on Monday, March 22nd, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 and 4:00-6:00pm. A private memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 23rd at 1:00pm.
