It is with broken hearts that we tell you our Matthew has been taken from us at the young age of 34, far too early in life. His constant companions were his dogs Dozer and Daisy and his cats Stephen and Gary. Matthew was deeply loved by his parents Becky and Tim, brothers Curtis, Reed and Spencer (Steph) and grandparents Nancy Lee and Bob Pyke. He will be sadly missed by his Aunts and Uncles, Jamie and Ron Jackson, Mindy and Terry Kelloway, Brett Lee (Nancy), Cheryl Anne McLaughlin, Garry and Cathy Pyke, Dan Pyke and Rob Pyke. He loved his many cousins Bryan, Dylan, Sarah, Erin, Josh, Jessica, Chelsea, Tamara, Courtney, Taylor, Breanne, Dalton and Will. He is predeceased by Grandma, Jean Pyke, Grandpa, Sonny Lee and his Aunt Bonnie Ewen Pyke. He had a great zest for life, his family and friends. Growing up he found a love for animals and strays (cats, racoons, rabbits), camping, nature, the game of lacrosse and being with people. He loved a good campfire with family and as he grew older, he loved a bonfire with friends when Mom, Dad and his brothers left on a long weekend to go camping! He became passionate for animal rescues and became a vegan. He often talked of helping the homeless. In his free time, he loved playing the game Destiny with friends and learning Spanish. He loved to laugh, and see others laugh. We will miss his beautiful blue eyes and amazing, infectious smile. He is at peace safely wrapped in the arms of his Grandpa Lee and Grandma Pyke. A private family service was held on Monday, March 8, 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to GetInTouchForHutch or the Guelph Drop In Centre.
