STONE, Bryan William Guy

It is with great sadness that the family of Bryan William Guy Stone announce his passing after a courageous battle with cancer on January 25th 2021, with his children by his side. He is predeceased by his wife Valerie and his brother Rodney. He will be greatly missed by his two children Gary Stone (Felicia) and Jeanette Aasman (Tony), his Honourary daughter Gaye Macmillan, and his wonderful grandchildren Spencer, Ryan, Brandon, Jordan, Nick, Craig, and Caitlyn. Bryan was born in 1935 in Yiewsley, West Drayton, England. He was the oldest of six children. He will be greatly missed by his English siblings; sisters Carol and Anita, brothers Michael and Paul, and the many extended family members. Bryan grew up and joined the British Army and then the Merchant Marine where he traveled the world. He then met and married his beautiful wife, Valerie Hall in 1961 and immigrated to Canada in 1964. Bryan worked for Omark (now Blount Canada) where he spent his whole working career in Building Maintenance. He loved his work life and treated everyone like family. Bryan very much enjoyed the camaraderie of playing Bocce with his co-workers during the Winter and continued to enjoy it after his retirement in 1997. Bryan also loved his garden. It was a great source of pride and his true passion. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren who brought great love and happiness to his life. Through his actions, he served as a genuine role model to everyone. Joy beamed from him even as cancer struck; he kept his chin up and fought valiantly. The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Dr. Sid Brodovsky and the entire Bayshore team for their outstanding palliative care and compassion. As per Bryan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A wonderful celebration of life will be held at a later date when Covid allows. Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Bryan W. G. Stone in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
