ERIN – A group of churches in and around Erin is coming together to offer an online Lenten Lunches series.
Rev. Felicia Urbanski, pastor at Erin United Church and chair of Erin Ministerial, said the churches normally offer Lenten Lunches in the weeks leading to Easter as a time of fellowship and place of prayer.
This year, the need for fellowship is even greater, Urbanski said, although participants will be in front of their separate computer screens.
But congregants have had many months to get used to the Zoom format since church services went online, “and people are adapting well, even though not everybody has the luxury of bandwidth,” Urbanski said.
The seven-week series begins Feb. 17 and runs every Wednesday at noon until March 31. Sessions include a prayer service led by a different pastor each week, music and singing, lunch (bring your own), and time for participants to connect with each other.
“We continue to help people through the pandemic,” Urbanski said. “Here, we’ll talk about ways to uplift each other.”
Participating churches include:
– Erin United;
– All-Saints Anglican;
– St. Andrew Presbyterian;
– Erin Village Alliance; and
– Belfountain Community Church.
To register, call Urbanski at 519-217-6874 and she will convey information about how to connect to the sessions.
