It is with great sadness that the family of William Edwin (Bill) Jones announce his sudden passing on Thursday January 14, 2021 as the result of a tragic accident. He is predeceased by his wife Jean (Thomas), his sister Emmaline and brother Evan. He is survived by his sister Gwen still in Wales. He will be greatly missed by his 2 sons Colin (Kelly) and Brian (Connie) and his grandchildren, Kira, Katherine, Cameron and Rhiannon. He leaves behind his partner of 15 years Gaynor Baker and her children Jennifer (Mike) and Adrian (Laura), and her grandchildren Logan, Colton and Briar. We all loved him in our own way. Bill was born in Colwyn Bay, North Wales in 1940, where he was raised and met his wife Jean. He emigrated to Canada in 1963, and Jean followed shortly after. They were married in Guelph and raised their two boys in Eramosa township where he lived for over 50 years. Bill worked for many years at Blount Canada, starting when it was Omark in 1963 and retired as a tool room supervisor in 1999. Bill loved to play Bocce with his co-workers in the winter months and cards (euchre) 4 times a week in his retired years. He loved the social interactions these activities provided him. When not socializing Bill could be found walking through or working in the bush on his property which he loved and did for many years of his life, it was part of his soul. As Bill would say, “Ta-Ra for now”. A private family service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1:00pm. The service will be live streamed and available to be viewed through the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home website. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Bill’s name may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Guelph Humane Society.
