WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Wellington North and Mapleton building departments will continue to accept building permit applications and issue permits through the current province-wide state of emergency.
The Government of Ontario declared a state of emergency and issued a stay at home order on Jan. 14. Under the declaration, only essential construction projects may continue and only these building inspections will continue.
In Wellington North, building permit applications along with supporting documents may be submitted by email to chief building official Darren Jones at djones@wellington-north.com.
For those without access to a method of emailing building permit applications, there is a drop box at the Municipal Office at 7490 Sideroad 7 W, Kenilworth, which will be checked each day.
To book building inspections the township is asking for 48 hour’s notice, by calling the building department at 519-848-3620 Ext. 5.

Planning and development applications may still be submitted to the Township.
In Mapleton, building permit applications along with supporting documents may be submitted by email to CBO Patty Wright at pwright@mapleton.ca.
Anyone without access to a method of emailing building permit applications, may use a mail slot at the Municipal Office at 7275 Sideroad 16, Drayton ON that will be checked regularly.
Mapleton also requests 48 hours notice for inspections and by calling 519-638-3313 ex 029.
