MOUNT FOREST – The Cooley Group has acquired Vintex, Inc.
The technical textiles and custom coated fabrics company, based in Mount Forest, will serve as Cooley’s sixth business unit: Healthcare Solutions as well as augment the Rhode Island-based company’s Commercial and Custom Solutions business units.
A Jan. 4 press release announcing the acquisition states Vintex has served as a leader in technical textiles and custom coated fabrics for over 60 years.
Vintex’s healthcare business provides coated textiles for medical devices and antimicrobial and launderable products. Their custom/commercial business operates in a number of niche markets, including, sports and recreation, infrastructure, auto and transportation and industrials.
Cooley President and CEO Dan Dwight and his executive team will take over leadership of Vintex from Vintex President and CEO Steven Wood.
Cooley has been a leader in technical textiles and custom coated fabrics for over 90 years. Cooley operates across five core business units: Containment Solutions, Waterproofing Solutions, Custom Solutions, Print Media Solutions and Sign & Shade Solutions.
The company sells and service its products in over 50 countries on six continents. A strategic objective of the acquisition is to expand Vintex sales across Cooley’s global network of customers and partners.
The Cooley Group is headquartered in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, with additional facilities in Lancaster, South Carolina and Cranston, Rhode Island. They are owned by Cooley’s executive leadership team and J.H. Whitney Capital Partners, a $1-billion private equity group.
