Dear Editor:
What’s wrong with this picture?
I may be getting old but I thought the three most important methods of helping to stop the spread of COVID-19 were :
– wearing a mask;
– social distancing; and
– staying home.
Well, there is a picture in the North Wellington Community News from Dec. 24 on page 10 that would lead me to believe otherwise.
God bless Molok, Maarc Apparel and Wellington Produce Packers for donating to Cancer Patient Services, but as far as social distancing goes, someone forgot just because we live in Mount Forest does not mean we are exempt from this rule. Mark Hillis from Molok seems to be the only one who remembered or cared; God bless you Mark for not wanting to give the gift of COVID to your family.
It would appear that Trish Rohrbacher wants to give Sharon Wilson a hug (really, who could blame her as Sharon is a really, really nice person?) but COVID-19 is not over.
When I mention this problem to some people I get the standard teenage answer: “Whatever!” The problem with the whatever attitude is that it is going to cost a lot of lives, and I really hope it is not your family members.
Maybe this weekend we should all go to a big wedding just for giggles to spread a little cheer – or is that spread a little COVID.
Pay attention folks. It’s not just your life, it’s your families’.
Dennis Ransome,
Mount Forest
