In the past month, over half of the calls to the Puslinch Fire Department are connected to Highway 401.
In the recent fire chief’s report, Bob Gordon said 52% of the calls involved responses to the 401.
Mayor Dennis Lever said it seems more and more calls are for that reason.
Gordon said those percentages are not the same throughout the year. “Sometimes it goes down to 35% over the year.
Lever said, “But it hasn’t started out that way this year, and the weather so far hasn’t been that bad.”
Gordon said there were two bad days during a storm where the fire department responded to five or six calls in a single day.
