4-H: Painting “en plein air”

The Mimosa 4-H watercolour club’s 5th meeting was held on July 2.

After the meeting was opened by Abby, members got down to business.

First, everyone finished up their sky-themed landscape paintings and left them out to dry. Then, members packed up our painting supplies and headed outside.  They were going to paint “en plein air” which means “in the open air”.

Members chose to paint any outdoor item or scene.  Some members painted flowers, while others painted landscapes or structures.  Members all agreed that it was a lot of fun!

After heading back inside, the members watched a video on how to paint “en plein air” while in a forest.

This meeting was really different, and for the club achievement project, they just might be able to paint “en plein air” again.

Abby closed the meeting with the 4-H motto.
