4-H learns 100 years of skills

The 100 Years of Skills club had their first meeting on May 31 at Mimosa Church with about 24 members attending.

They started with the 4-H pledge then held an election of officers.

They are as follows: President – Megan Thomson, Vice-president-Avery Tivendale, Secretary- Abigail Morton and Press Reporter- Madison Bartlett.

The leaders are June Switzer and Carol Pollock and the junior leader is Jordan Pedersen who helped write this special project to honor 100 years of 4-H in Ontario.

During the first meeting the members learned about embroidery chain stitches. Each member received a pillow case and at the next meeting they will transfer a design to it and embroider it (like grandmothers used to do).

The next meeting will be June 14.

The meeting ended with the president leading the 4-H Motto, learn to do by doing.
