The 4th meeting of the Mimosa 4-H Water-colour club took place on June 18. The topic was composing a still-life painting. Members hardly knew what this was, so June showed a video to help them learn more about it. A still life painting is painting an object that is “still” or “frozen.” Members started by paint an apple. These were very well done. Next, they did some free-style doodling where members drew shapes all over our painting paper and then painted them with different colours. While, letting these dry members moved on to work on paintings with starry backgrounds. The technique to create the stars was to dip a toothbrush into white water colour paste and flick it off onto the paper. Members thought this was really cool and though the paintings looked so real.
