On Feb. 11 just over 190 people enjoyed Lasagna created by Fergies Fine Foods at the 12th Annual Fundraiser for cadet activities.
Merchants from the area donated prizes to the raffle table and silent auction.
There were over 130 items on the raffle table; 15 silent auction items and two specialty prizes – a pass to Wonderland for the Queen of Hearts draw which was donated by Erin Auto Recyclers and a 42” TV donated by the Erin Optimists for the Heads & Tails Elimination Draw.
The Wonderland Pass was won by Carol Paisley and the Haeir TV was won by Scott Rae, a last minute guest at the event and former cadet parent.
The entertainment for the evening was provided by the Erin District High School Band and we thank Mrs. Cameron for returning for the evening and Principal Gayfer for participating along with the group of talented musicians.
The 242 Ross Ferguson Squadron will put the $4900.00 profit to good use in the coming months. The money will enable the Squadron Sponsoring Committee to fund various activities such as the Annual Sports Competition on March 4th at EPS; a night of broomball and skating at Centre 2000 and hopefully a couple of other trips that the senior cadets are currently planning. This money also pays for the Squadron Annual Review, which this year will take place on Saturday, June 10th at Centre 2000.
Registration is always open at 242 – youth need to be between 12 – 18 years of age to join. Come out on a Tuesday evening to the Legion 442 on Dundas Street and check out the program. More information can be found on our website: www.242erinaircadets.com .
