“˜Haunted asylum”™ takes over Rockwood house

This Halloween a house on Christie Street here will be transformed into a haunted asylum with a zombie theme.

“I have always loved zombies,” said creator  Steve Ross. “A lot of influence from the show The Walking Dead (and right now zombies are a big thing).”

The Ross family had put on a haunted house in Acton for years. Last Halloween was the first in Rockwood.

“The feedback has been fantastic,” Ross said. “Any time you can scare someone and they loved it, it’s a good thing.”

Over 480 visitors witnessed the “Creepy Carnevil” haunt last Halloween.

This year the famiy’s garage will be transformed into a haunted asylum and Ross said the scare factor can be taken right up to a 10 out of 10 but it can also be turned down when necessary.

The five- to 10-minute walk-through of the haunted house is free of charge and features a zombie containmement unit and a cell holding a zombie. About six live actors take part on Halloween.

The haunted asylum is located at 218 Christie Street in Rockwood and will be open on Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 10pm. For more information visit Paranormalscreams.com.
