Carbon Nation kicks off enviro-film fest Jan. 18

Not sure what to believe about climate change?

Even though the science is increasingly clear that humans are heating the planet, the U.S. filmmakers who created the movie Carbon Nation just don’t care what people believe.

Instead, they make a case for getting off fossil fuels for all sorts of other good reasons – for saving tons of energy dollars, creating an abundance of green jobs, boosting the economy and – not least – for making the world a healthier place.

On Jan. 18, Carbon Nation launches Erin’s 2012 Fast Forward Environmental Film Festival, the third annual series presented by the Climate Change Action Group of Erin, and made possible by the support of local sponsors.

The doors open at 6:30pm at the Erin Legion, and the film starts at 7pm.

Carbon Nation, sponsored by Rob’s Automotive Service in Erin, is a departure from most eco-films: it is an optimistic, solutions-based, non-preachy, non-partisan film, and it will probably leave viewers hollering for action on many green energy fronts. 

All Fast Forward films are scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month, from January through May at the Erin Legion, 12 Dundas Street East.

Admission to the event is free, though donations are appreciated.
