Senate ceremony

Newly-appointed Canadian Senator Rob Black, middle, of Centre Wellington, was officially sworn-in to his position by interim Senate clerk Richard Denis, right, at a ceremony in Ottawa on Feb. 27. Looking in is Senator V. Peter Harder. The Bible with which Black was sworn in belonged to his great-great grandmother and is dated June 1864. “Within its pages I placed the photos of three very important/close people: my grandmother Isabel Black and two very close family friends who have passed on, but whom I wanted share the event with,” said Black.   Senate of Canada photo
