Drinking and driving

PUSLINCH - On Feb. 24 at about 4:30pm, Wellington County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on Laird Road, west of Guelph.

Police say officers spoke to a male driver, conducted a roadside screening device test and brought him to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

Raymond Wesley Kingsmill, 58, of Kitchener, was charged with driving with more than 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in his system. He is to appear in Guelph court on March 20.

GUELPH - On Feb. 28 at about 8:30pm, Wellington County OPP officers stopped the driver of a white mini-van for an alleged driving offence on Gordon Street here.

Police say the male driver refused to provide a breath sample at the scene and again refused at a local OPP operations centre.

Collin Loreto Cirfi, 25, of Guelph, was charged with failing to provide a breath sample. He is to appear in Guelph court on March 27.

CENTRE WELLINGTON - On March 2 at about 7:30pm, Wellington County OPP officers responded to a vehicle roll-over on Wellington Road 22 near Oustic.

Police say the male driver suffered minor injuries when the white van he was driving entered a ditch and rolled.

Leanid Zanko, 50, of Kitchener, was charged with impaired driving and driving over 80mg. He is to appear in Guelph court on April 4.

CENTRE WELLINGTON - On March 3 at about 6:30pm, Wellington County OPP officers responded to a single-vehicle collision Wellington Road 19, east of Fergus.

Police say officers spoke to the driver of a sedan that ended up in the ditch and brought him to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

Michael James Stewart, 30, of Fergus, was charged with impaired driving and driving over 80mg. He is to appear in Guelph court on April 6.

PALMERSTON -  On Feb. 24 at about 3am, Wellington County OPP officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Miller Crescent here.

Police say officers spoke to the male driver of a black sedan that hit a utility box and transported him to a local OPP operations centre for testing.

Nolan Joseph Huxter, 18, of Palmerston, was charged with impaired driving and driving over 80mg. He is to appear in Guelph court on March 20.

In the above incidents the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
