UK tour

The Fergus Highland Rugby Club hosted a farewell dinner for the U16 boys and girls teams, who embark on a 10-day tour of England and Wales on March 8. The event, held at the club’s field house on March 3, including a brief speech by Wellington-Halton Hills MP Michael Chong, one of the founding members of the Fergus Highland club who went on to play varsity rugby at the University of Toronto. Chong reminded the athletes they are ambassadors of Canada and their community, and expressed his enthusiasm for their opportunity to play overseas. Both teams were presented with their full UK tour kit and Chong presented each athlete with Canadian pins to present to the clubs they will tour in matches throughout their trip.
