OnStar used to track stolen vehicle to Centre Wellington

CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Jan. 27 at around 11pm, a 2017 red GMC Sierra truck was reported stolen from a gas station in Hamilton. The owner had left the vehicle running briefly while inside the gas station.

The vehicle was tracked by OnStar to Wellington County where the OnStar feature allowed the vehicle to be remotely disabled near Eighth Line and Sideroad 10 in Centre Wellington.

Upon police arrival, the suspect allegedly fled on foot into a farm field. A police canine unit attended the area and located the accused hiding in the field.

Daniel Scott Noseworthy, 24, of Palmerston has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle. He was held for a bail hearing.
