Mental health documentary to be made available online

KINCARDINE - The Invisible Wounds Conference, which was held in Kincardine Oct. 27, was well attended with approximately 90 First Responders and others who work in high stress environments from across the province.

About $1,200 dollars was raised and donated to Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services to assist in funding Road to Mental Readiness (R2MR) training in 2018.

The documentary Overcoming Obstacles was set to air on Wightman TV channel 6 on Jan. 10  at 8:30pm, and on Bruce Telecom TV Channel 1 on Jan. 11 at 8:30pm.

This documentary, which was produced by local TV content producer Adam Olivero and Wightman Telecom and Bruce Telecom, would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of some of the speakers from the Invisible Wounds Conference in 2017.

Organizers thank Leslie Motors Ford for sponsorship of the documentary, and for their ongoing support of first responders.

For those outside the viewing area a link to this documentary will be posted on on or before Feb. 1  (this website is presently under construction).

Two conferences are tentatively planned for 2018.  The Invisible Wounds Conference for first responders in the fall, and another Invisible Wounds Conferences for specifically for health professionals in the summer.

Details of upcoming conferences will be posted on and on Eventbrite.
