Tower funding

Directors of the 2016 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo held in Minto are each authorized to direct a portion of the proceeds from the event to a cause of their choice. Ross Wilkie, of Harriston, elected to donate a $1,500 contribution to the clock tower restoration campaign at the Old Post Centre for Business and Creativity in Harriston. Wilkie donated the funds specifically toward cost overruns for restoring the historic bell, which once again rings out the hour at the downtown facility. “The bell was always close to my heart,” said Wilkie, left, as he presented a cheque to Old Post owner Michael Hendrick on Nov. 3.
