Impaired driving

ELORA - On Oct. 1 at about 3:30am, a Wellington County OPP officer stopped a Toyota hatchback on Woolwich Street West here.

Police say the officer spoke to the male driver and transported him to a local OPP detachment for testing.

Tadd Reed Maracle, 26, of Cambridge, was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in his system. He is to appear in Guelph court on Nov. 10.

PUSLINCH -  On Oct. 1 at about 11:30am, a Wellington County OPP officer stopped a Kia SUV on Victoria Road South here.

Police say the officer spoke to the female driver, conducted a roadside screening device test and transported her to a local OPP detachment for testing.

Kelly Carman Jones-Engerer, 24, of Courtice, was charged with driving over 80mg. She is to appear in Guelph court on Nov. 7.

 ERIN - On Oct. 7 at about 8:55pm, Wellington County OPP received a report of a “suspicious male” in a vehicle on Erindale Drive here.

Police say officers responded and transported the driver to a local OPP detachment for testing.

Kyran Maine, 27, of Erin, was charged with driving over 80mg and impaired care or control of a vehicle. He is to attend Guelph court on Nov. 17.

CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Oct. 7 at about 9:20pm Wellington County OPP received a report of an erratic driver on Townline Road in Guelph-Eramosa.

While patrolling for the vehicle, OPP were advised it had driven into a ditch on the Eramosa-Garafraxa Townline in Centre Wellington.

Spencer Kopelchak, 20, of Burlington, was charged with driving while impaired by drugs. He is to attend Guelph court on Nov. 14.

WELLINGTON NORTH - On Oct. 8 at about 3:35am a Wellington County OPP officer on general patrol on Highway 6 near Sideroad 10 allegedly observed a vehicle on the side of the road with a male driver slumped over the steering wheel.

“The officer was able to gain entry to the vehicle and wake the male up,” police stated in a press release.

Grant Wilson, 26, of Mount Forest, was charged with impaired driving and driving over 80mg. He is to attend Guelph court on Nov. 17.

In the above incidents the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
