First Fibre to the Home

Gerrie’s Garden Centre and Farm Market was the first property in Elora to be connected to Wightman’s Fibre to the Home service. The store and residence on the property were connected to the fibre network at the beginning of August and Tim Gerrie, left, said the service is about five times faster than the traditional phone line they were using before. His father, Paul, said the additional capacity of the new fibre line is an advantage. Since Gerrie’s was connected Wightman has been installing Fibre to the Home service for customers in Elora on a regular basis, marketing manager Hope Reidt said.  Photo by Jaime Myslik
