Farmers’ Market Local Taste

Local food - The Elora Farmers’ Market hosted Farmers’ Market Local Taste on Aug. 5 to celebrate Food Day Canada. Visitors could pay $20 to sample food prepared by regional chefs. LEFT: Andrea Lines-Botell of Peachies Pantry in Elora prepared a double chocolate brownie and bruschetta for the Food Day Canada event. She arrived at the market early and prepared all of her items with food purchased from the market. RIGHT: Fran Weima of the Mill Street Bistro and Smokehouse in Elora prepared spiralized vegetables for her contribution to the event. She offered a mix of zucchini, carrots, beets and onions topped with a portion of smoked salmon, all grown and prepared on a Centre Wellington farm.       Photos by Jaime Myslik
