Drinking and driving

MAPLETON - On Aug. 5 at about 8:40pm a Wellington County OPP officer received a traffic complaint regarding a pick-up truck on Wellington Road 7 near Sideroad 16.

Police say the officer spoke to the driver, conducted a roadside screening test and transported him to a local OPP operations centre for testing.

Robert Russo, 25, of Guelph, was charged with driving with more than 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in his system and is to appear in Guelph court on Sept. 8.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
