Trout stocking on the Grand River

Trout team - Hailey Thomas of San Diego helps Erin Longo of Guelph, a Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry summer student, stock brown trout in the Grand River just east of Fergus on May 12. With the help of Friends of the Grand River, the ministry released 23,000 brown trout last week at about 30 sites along a 28km stretch of the river between the Shand Dam and West Montrose. The groups also released about 14,750 brown trout into the Conestogo River at about 30 sites along a 19km stretch below the Conestogo Dam.  Photo by Mike Robinson
