Lions Clubs make major pledge to Groves

Hospital donation - Lions for Groves is a group of nine different Lions Clubs from the Wellington County area that have teamed up with a goal to raise $200,000 over the next two to three years for the Groves Hospital Foundation to go towards the diabetes and patient education program offered at the Groves hospital in Fergus.  “It’s an area in the hospital that’s being enhanced and extended for diabetes services to their clients,” said Lions for Groves chair Denis Vinette from the Belwood Lions Club. Gary Waterhouse, second from left, of the Fergus Lions Club, and Vinette, right, presented the cheque to Groves Hospital Foundation chair Hugh Calderwood, left, and executive director Lori Arsenault. The nine Lions Clubs involved are: Ariss and Maryhill, Arthur, Belwood, Elora, Fergus, Grand Valley, Hillsburgh, Marsville and Rockwood.  Photo by Jaime Myslik
