Regional championships

Thirteen members of the Superstars Baton Club competed in Bowmanville on April 1 and 2 at the CNBTA Regional Championships. Approximately 80 athletes from Richmond Hill, Oshawa, Hamilton, Brampton, Walkerton, Burlington, Ajax, Fergus, Arthur and surrounding area gathered to compete for the Regional Cups and Miss Regional Pageant. Mackenzie Fraser, 8, of Arthur, was 1st in basic march and 2baton. Madisyn Gibbard, 13, from Kitchener was 1st in solo, 2nd in basic march and won the Novice Miss Regional Pageant. Alyssa George, 13, of Fergus, was 1st in 3baton and 2baton, 3rd in strut and 2nd in the Senior Regional Cup. Jamie Green, 7, of Arthur, was 3rd in the Novice Miss Regional Pageant. Hayleigh Homer, 14, of Fergus, was 1st in basic march and 2nd in 3baton and strut. Skylar Irwin, 14, of Arthur, was 3rd in 3baton. Paige Johnston, 9, of Arthur, was 2nd in strut. Lyla Mae Kuntz, 8, of Chepstow, was 2nd in solo and 2nd in the Beginner Miss Regional Pageant. Shayla Logel,  12, of Elora was 2nd in basic march. Abigail Post, 9, of Arthur, was 2nd in basic march and solo and won the Novice Miss Regional Pageant. Elsie Post, 11, of Arthur, was 1st in 2baton and solo, 3rd in strut and won the Advance Miss Regional pageant and Junior Regional Cup. Jadyn Worton, 8, of Fergus, was 3rd in solo and 2nd in the Novice Miss Regional Pageant. Makenzie Worton, 15, of Fergus was 1st in solo and 2nd in 2baton and in the Intermediate Miss Regional Pageant. The pair team of Johnston and Irwin were 2nd for their Beginner pair performance and the duet team of Worton and George placed 3rd in the Advance team division. The team “Mission Impossible” received a 2nd place - members include: Homer, George, Irwin, and Post; the team “Sound of Silence” placed 3rd - members include: George, Bailey Pinder, E Post, Lauren Robb and M Worton; the team “Bonita” placed 3rd – members include: Fraser, Gibbard, Johnston and Logel. The twirlers are trained by Krista DiStasi, Lauren Robb and Bailey Pinder. The girls will be training hard for the CNBTA Provincial Championships at the beginning of May in Kitchener.  Submitted photo
